Corn Capital Genetics, Inc., Now AgVenture® Pinnacle™, Expands Offerings To Area Farmers

OLIVIA, MINNESOTA/KENTLAND, INDIANA (November 2, 2015) — In a move to reinforce AgVenture’s Maximum Profit System™ support for growers, Pinnacle Agriculture Holdings, LLC (“Pinnacle”), has announced the purchase of Olivia, Minnesota-based Corn Capital Genetics, Inc. (CCG). The seed and agronomy business will now operate under the AgVenture® Pinnacle™ brand, will remain at its current location in Olivia, and will continue to be managed by CCG’s former owner, Steve O’Neill. Corn Capital Innovations, LLC, the crop insurance business was not part of the acquisition and remains independently owned and operated by Steve O’Neill. AgVenture Pinnacle customers will continue to have access to AgVenture® and VPMaxx® brand seed products.

AgVenture Pinnacle’s Olivia Manager, Steve O’Neill said, “This is a very exciting announcement for our customers, our company, and our community. As AgVenture Pinnacle, we will have expanded access to products, techniques and services that increase productivity, improve yield and maximize profitability for our growers. This change should be seamless for our customers while creating a new brand that looks toward innovation in seed, chemical, fertilizer and management techniques that maximize profitability on each acre.”

AgVenture PinnacleAgVenture, Inc. (AVI) Business Development Director Chuck Schneider said, “This is a huge acknowledgment of the AgVenture and VPMaxx brands and all they stand for. Customers will continue to work with the local professionals they know and trust, and in addition, will also have access to an array of additional crop input products and services aimed at supporting our MPS goals; dramatically higher yields, lower cost per bushel, and improved profitability on every acre,” he added. “Together with AgVenture’s specifically selected and locally adapted seed products, and year-round professional seed expertise, we can support our customers’ cropping plans, yielding greater profitability throughout the region.”

“Pinnacle is backed by more than six decades of successful seed testing, production, sales, and management. Our union with this group of companies is an ideal situation, as Pinnacle is committed to making seed products a primary offering,” said Tommy Jumper, Pinnacle Vice President, Seed Procurement, and Strategy. “We look forward to continuing a dedicated approach and committed relationships with customers to help more farmers achieve higher yield goals, and sustained long-term profitability.”

In addition to purchasing CCG, Pinnacle also acquired seven other seed companies across the Midwest that will operate under the AgVenture Pinnacle brand and remain part of the AgVenture network of independent seed companies. Each location will provide value-added crop input products and services to complement the seed offerings.  AVI will continue to support AgVenture Pinnacle locations with access to seed products and professional training to maintain the highest standards, while Pinnacle will support the locations with access to first-in-class crop protection and fertilizer products, as well as award-winning precision agriculture services. AVI will also maintain its service to its nationwide network of regional seed companies with excellence in technology access and seed professionalism.

Hit a Homerun Using the 4 Components of Farm Profitability

If you’re a baseball fan….you know that the only way to score is by rounding the bases.  You need to rely on your coaches and work as a team.  Farm profitability is very similar.

4 Components of Farm Profitability

  1. Let’s say you are up to bat at home base….we’ll consider that production.  It all starts here….where you have the most control….focused on preparing the field, planting the right seed at the correct depth and nurturing it through the growing season.
  2. Let’s compare first base to crop insurance….protecting your investment to secure revenue and provide peace of mind.
  3. Now you’re heading for second.  We’ll call that grain marketing.  The most difficult job a grower faces.  Utilize Corn Capital Innovations experts to help you get the competitive advantage in the changing market.
  4. Third base is financial management and analysis, whether to buy a new combine or expand your acreage.  We help you figure out your profit margins, manage labor and set up a business plan.
